Meet Our Clinicians

Therapy Center of Houston

Ryan Pescaia, MS, LPC-A

I am passionate about helping you explore your thoughts, feelings, and emotions - at a pace that is comfortable for you. My counseling approach is different, in the way that we will only discuss the difficult stuff when the time is right. We will spend a lot of time building our relationship and trust so we can discuss your difficulties whenever you're ready. As a client, you're in the driver's seat - you choose how fast we go.

I come from a logical school of thought, so I like to define specific goals and objectives. However, I still take a person-centered, positive psychological approach through multicultural and psychodynamic counseling perspectives. My clients would describe me as a down-to-earth, genuine, and bubbly person. I do not put up any pretenses and I make my clients feel comfortable and secure talking to me about anything. As a client, you can expect to have a safe space of empathy and unconditional acceptance. Many of us only let down our guard when we're alone. In the comfort of my office, you will not have to do this alone. You can find someone to genuinely listen, to accept fully, and sit with you in the trauma - no matter how uncomfortable.

I am an LPC Associate being supervised by our Clinical Director Sharon McLendon, LPC-S. I have completed over 800 clock hours in a practicum/internship setting working with families, couples, and teens. I specialize in LGBT+ issues, couples counseling, depression, anxiety, family counseling, overcoming burnout, suicidal ideation, codependency, relationship issues, and grief.

I recognize how hard it can be to reach out for help. My hope is that by working together you will feel equipped and encouraged to overcome anything. Before ending our sessions, you will find hope that there will always be a better tomorrow.

As your counselor, I will encourage you to prioritize yourself, your mental wellness, and your needs. I will help you, enable you, and empower you to take hold of your life. Even if you feel like you’re drowning, I will teach you to swim.
